Closetstatus: What is your full name?..lol

MarcC: Full name …my government name…lol…..Marcus Clark …

Closetstatus: When did you know that fashion was ultimately what you wanted to pursue?

MarcC:  Since the age of d a eight I had a love for clothes and I was always trying to think outside the box while matching outfits together.  I remember when I use to tell my mom I wanted to wear this color and not that color.  I really got into fashion while in high school. I was head of fashion shows and I started my own T-shirt Company. During this time I also worked as a visual merchandiser for this company; I would dress and style the manikins.

Closetstatus: Was your family very supportive of your dream( since usually people want their kids to go to school and become lawerys and things like that)?

MarcC: 110% (while chuckling) My parents are really cool people. They are all characters and growing individuals and they knew when I was a kid I was going to be a creative individual. During Christmas time I would make toys out of the Christmas lights and things like batteries.  So they knew I would be doing something out of the norm, so when it came to fashion they did not know how far I would take it, but they was very supportive.

Closetstatus: What do you love designing the most?

MarcC: I’m a big fan of Graphic Tees; different designs and concepts. I do love making the Bow Ties, they are handmade but time consuming, I love It! A year from now you will see jeans, blazers, and dresses. MarcC will also be household name and a lifestyle.

Closetstatus: when did you know that fashion was really going to work for you?

MarcC: I HAD A DREAM.  I had a dream that Lady Gaga was wearing my Bow Tie and when I woke up; I said: you know what, this is my life. My dream begin to manifest into reality with hard work.

Closetstatus: Who are the people you look up to fashion wise?

MarcC: I love Marc Jacobs and what he has done with Louis Vuitton and also with his brand. He is a creative genius. Also, Jeremy Scott, he does crazy sh*t that people don’t even think about. Like making sneakers with wings and sneakers with three tongues, straight left field stuff. If the phrase thinking outside of the box was in the dictionary, Jeremy Scott name should be behind it.

Closetstatus: What do you want people to get from your clothing line?

MarcC: Just to be an individual. Not being afraid to take risk. Confidence! You have to be confident in yourself because everybody cant around with a Foxtail, Bow tie brooch, or Glasses made of all Bronze.

Closetstatus: What is your sources? What keeps you motivated to continue to press forward?

MarcC: Life, waking up every morning knowing that I was blessed enough to wake up. I don’t take anything for granted. I pray all the time….so yeah just God and Life

Closetstatus: What is your #1 quote?

MarcC: I have a lot of quoutes. Ummmm…I’m always tweeting quotes...Let me find one…ok here is one…Creative Minds Has Always Been Known to Survive

Closetstatus: What inspired the Foxtail?

MarcC: My mother brought me a Wii for Christmas. So I went to blockbuster to buy some guys for it. Most of the games were cartoon games…Like Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic stuck out to me because he had this partner named Tails and of course Tails had a tail. I thought it would be mad cool if I could bring tails to a reality.

Closetstatus: What about the Bowtie, what inspired the Bowtie?

MarcC:  I had a dream that Lady Giga was performing and she was killing it, but she had on this big ass bowtie. When I woke up I thought to myself that I make Bowties, I made them for my fashion shows. So I went to the canvas and created my first sample prototype Bowtie. Afterwards we went fabric shopping, got materials…and after trial and error…this is the Bowtie you see today
